Reel NW Shorts Nominated for NW Regional Emmy Awards
The 50th Annual Northwest Regional Emmy® Awards are taking place this weekend and we are rooting for the following three Reel NW short films nominated for the awards:
Honor the Treaties is a short film that examines photographer Aaron Huey’s work for Native American rights on the Pine Ridge Reservation. The film explores the idea that journalists sometimes ‘get the wrong story’. Using Aaron’s seven-year experience as a photographer on the Pine Ridge Reservation, we examine the idea of growth and change in relationship to telling a story.”
REEL NW: Preguntas Hermosas
Arts/Entertainment - Feature/Segment
Chris Volckmann, Executive Producer
Preguntas Hermosas is a poetic story of time shared and love lost, told through a combination of “Poema X” by Pablo Neruda and “Under the Harvest Moon” by Carl Sandburg. It unfolds in three parts: a fond remembrance, loss, and then finally acceptance.
The Piano: What happens when you take the prim and proper concert piano and pianists straight off the stage and throw them into the dusty, scary, grimy mess of the factory where the majestic black creatures are born.
