Bellevue Arts Museum ARTSfair

The 70th Annual Bellevue Arts Museum ARTSfair includes over 300 free exhibitions featuring modern, traditional and up-and-coming work in the areas of handmade arts and crafts. The event also includes a kids’ fair and food trucks to keep event goers fueled up. (See more)

Seattle Dragon Boat Festival

“Dragon boat racing has a rich history of ceremonial tradition, with dragons traditionally believed to be the rulers of rivers, lakes and seas, dominating the clouds, mists and rains from heaven.” —

Lake Union will be filled with the sounds of pounding drums and thrashing paddles during the fierce boat racing competition that is the Seattle Dragon Boat Festival. On shore, an exciting lineup of professional entertainers will perform for spectators, and artists will demonstrate and display their crafts. (See more)

Pista Sa Nayon, Filipino Festival

This event celebrating Filipino American culture is organized entirely by volunteers and includes a vast array of delicious food booths, as well as a full lineup of professional and amateur entertainers, including a finalist from The Voice Philippines, a Filipino dance troupe from the University of Washington, and local artists like Jessica Domingo and Lions Ambition. Rhea Panela is a summer intern with Spark Public. Rhea is majoring in journalism with minors in English and diversity at the University of Washington. She is also the Digital Media Editor at the International Examiner and a writer for The Daily of the University of Washington. She was named one of the inaugural UW Husky 100 and was also one of the recipients of the 2016 Northwest Journalists of Color scholarship.
