Here’s the scoop on Spark Public’s favorite ice cream places.

1. Hello Robin

Abby Shalawylo, social media reporter

The Scoop

Where: Capitol Hill, Seattle (map)
Favorite menu item: Orange Snickerdoodle Cookie and Vanilla Ice Cream
Cost: One ice cream sandwich starts at $4.95
Options: Gluten-free
Learn more: hellorobincookies.com

Hello Robin is one of my favorite dessert places because you can get delicious cookies and Molly Moon’s ice cream together! Nothing beats a high quality ice cream sandwich. There are so many fun flavors to choose from, but my go-to is melted chocolate ice cream smashed between a birthday cake cookie and a chocolate chip cookie. To be honest, sometimes I don't make it out of the store without getting a box of cookies to take home. Fair warning — once you start going to Hello Robin, there’s a fair chance of addiction!

2. Mora Ice Creamery

Jen Germain, content producer

The Scoop

Where: Bainbridge Island (map)
Favorite menu item: Banana, Orange Cream
Cost: Single-scoop starts at $5.25
Options: Vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free
Learn more: moraicecream.com

Mora Ice Cream on Bainbridge Island is my favorite ice cream shop! Not only does it provide the perfect excuse to take in the gorgeous views from the ferry ride on the way over, but Mora ice cream offers 42 magnificent flavors of ice cream and all of the recipes are handcrafted in-house! The best part? At Mora, you pay for your ice cream first so that you can take your sweet time sampling!

Fun Fact: Starbucks Reserve partners with Mora, offering, Affogato, Cold Brew Float, and a Malted Milkshake, all made with Mora Ice Cream!

3. Shug’s Soda Fountain

The Scoop

Where: Pike Place Market (map)
Favorite menu item: NY Egg Cream and S’mores Sundae
Cost: Egg Cream, $8; Sundae, $9
Options: Vegan, dairy-free (sorbet)

Shug’s is an absolute must when it comes to fun ice cream treats. The entire store is decorated like an old-fashioned soda fountain with a slightly modern touch and it’s perfect for Instagram picture backdrops. They have tons of fun ice cream treats, like the Brown Derby which features a Mighty-O doughnut, any scoop of ice cream, whipped cream and a cherry on top. They also have ice cream cocktails with Champagne. If you’re looking for a fun treat, definitely come here!

4. Full Tilt

Gabriela Capestany, production intern

The Scoop

Where: Various locations around Seattle (map)
Favorite menu item: Chocolate
Cost: Single-scoop starts at $3.75

I come for the crazy flavors (they had pear gorgonzola when I was there) and awesome toppings (lucky charms marshmallows?!) Not to mention the ice cream itself is amazing, of course.

5. Molly Moon’s Ice Cream

Paris Nguyen, entertainment reporter

The Scoop

Where: Various locations around Seattle (map)
Favorite menu item: Vegan Scout Mint
Cost: Single-scoop starts at $5.25
Options: Vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free
Learn more: mollymoon.com

I consider myself to be an open-minded, easy-going individual... but there is one thing that I absolutely will not tolerate: lactose. Because of this, I've spent much of my life in the bitter abyss that is an ice cream-less existence. But now it’s 2017 and we have the beauty of places like Molly Moon’s. This Seattle staple offers decadent, unique flavors that will satisfy any-and-all dessert enthusiasts, including multiple vegan-friendly flavors. Suffice it to say, my life will never be the same.

6. Ben and Jerry’s

Stacey Jenkins, managing producer

The Scoop

Where: Various locations around Seattle (map)
Favorite menu item: Chocolate Cherry Garcia, Salted Caramel Blondie
Cost: Single-scoop starts at $5.25
Options: Vegan, gluten-free
Learn more: benjerry.com

Sometimes you gotta go for comfort and familiarity. I know what I'm going to get with Ben and Jerry’s — I love their flavor combinations and the smooth, creaminess of their ice cream. It also helps swallow the guilt of not going local.

I absolutely LOVE Shugs....such a fun place, with excellent staff, and really creative offerings as well as stellar traditional ice cream concoctions.  AND the ice cream cocktails are fabulous (with prosecco or Bailey's or Kahlua, etc.).  They even have a party space.  Great place for kids and adults.
