Telling the Story of Ashley Kriel in ‘Action Comandante’

Ashley Kriel was killed by police on July 9, 1987 in Cape Town, South Africa because of his role in fighting apartheid. Action Comandante tells the story of his life through the words of his family and fellow freedom fighters. Watch Nadine Angel Cloete, director of Action Comandante, talk about the film and what it means to her to tell the story of her community's history.

Stacey’s experience also includes working as a senior producer for KPTS, as an assistant media instructor and producer for Portland Community College and a TV news reporter for the CBC in Canada.

Fun Fact: Stacey’s guilty pleasures include over-the-top Halloween decor, eating sweetened condensed milk straight from the can and Maroon 5’s “Sugar” video.
