Behind the Scenes of City of Ghosts

Oscar-nominated filmmaker Matthew Heineman talks to KCTS 9 about his achingly relevant new film.

June 8, 2017

Oscar-nominated filmmaker Matthew Heineman talks to KCTS 9 about his achingly relevant new film, City of Ghosts. Mr. Heineman talks to us about telling the story of a small group of moderate Muslims as the fight ISIS in their home town.

City of Ghosts chronicles the efforts of Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently (RBSS), a handful of anonymous Syrian activists who risk their lives to tell the world about their city’s suffering.
