April 13, 2018

Rev. Dr. Samuel B. McKinney, pastor emeritus of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Seattle, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018. He is remembered not only as the leader of one of Seattle’s oldest African-American churches, but as one of Seattle’s most prominent civil-rights leaders. In 1998, Journalist Enrique Cerna sat down with Dr. Rev. McKinney to hear his story. We are resharing that interview as we reflect on his life and his leadership in our community.
