Cinnamon-Sugar Pecans

These crispy-sweet nuts make the perfect homemade holiday gift.

This year, give delicious gifts made with love. These crispy, sweet nuts are easy to make at the last minute — a wonderful stocking stuffer!

Makes 4 cups of pecans.


  • 1 egg white from a large egg
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 cups good quality pecan halves (about 1 pound) from the bulk section
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 heaping half tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large zip-lock bag mix sugar, cinnamon and salt.

In a large bowl, whisk egg white, water and vanilla until frothy with a fork,
Add pecans to the egg white mixture and stir to coat each pecan, Pour coated pecans into the zip-lock bag, close and shake to fully coat in cinnamon mixture.

Spread nuts out in a single layer onto prepared baking sheet and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes so they don’t stick together.

My wife makes somewhat the same recipe but she only uses the nuts we like and they are cashews, walnuts and pecans.  Spices include your cinnamon but also allspice, nutmeg, and ginger.  You can get a pint of egg whites. 55 minutes at 275 degrees.  The rest is your recipe.  In all cases they are addictively eaten but large batches are shared with many friends and rated the best of Christmas presents and a nice tradition to begin and continue.  Have a Merry one!
