This spicy-sweet chipotle rub creates a flavorful crust for grilled pork tenderloin.

June 12, 2018

An almost-instant spicy-sweet chipotle rub creates a flavorful crust for pork tenderloin cooked on the grill.

Serves six to eight people.

  • Two pork tenderloins, about 3/4-pound each

Chipotle Rub

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chipotle chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon mild o medium-hot chili powder
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 4 tablespoons packed light brown sugar

Combine rub ingredients, taste and adjust seasonings to your preferences. In a bag or container, place tenderloins and shake to coat with the rub, patting it in to help the seasoning stick. Let meat sit in the mix for a minimum of 10 minutes. For a longer wait, keep refrigerated.

Heat grill to medium-high and oil the grate. Grill the tenderloins, turning every 5 minutes, until well-browned and caramelized on the outside, cooked to an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. Let meat rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Great accompanied by grilled pineapple and fresh coleslaw
