PBS KIDSpiration: December 2017

Got kids? We’ve rounded up some of our favorite programs and ideas for family fun happening this December.

November 28, 2017

Whether you are a family of carolers, candle-lighters or Kwanzaa celebrators, ‘tis the season of making fun holiday memories. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite crafts, recipes, outings and more for making the most of your December.

Watch

All this month, it’s a holiday party with specials from Peg + Cat, Curious George, Wild Kratts, Sesame Street and more! And new holiday-themed episodes of Ready, Jet, Go!, Splash and Bubbles and Cyberchase premiere this month. Stream KCTS 9 PBS KIDS 24/7 online anytime, watch on the PBS KIDS Video App or PBS KIDS YouTube channel. See the full schedule for what’s playing on KCTS 9 and PBS KIDS 24/7

Make

Holiday treats

Decorate and devour delicious gluten-free holiday cutout cookies,  Russian tea cakes or peppermint bark. Build a marshmallow snow friend or make a peppermint ornament — a craft and a snack all in one!

DIY bottle cap dreidels

Try this Hanukkah craft that’s also a traditional Hanukkah game! Toothpicks or skewers and bottle caps make for hours of fun.

Make a Kwanzaa Kinara

Traditionally, during the Kwanzaa celebration, one candle of seven in a kinara is lit each day in recognition of seven principles. This craft lets kids make their own while learning about this tradition.

Festive holiday printables

Help kids put a creative touch on their holiday gifts with printable wrapping paper, ornaments and gift tags featuring Curious George, Daniel Tiger, The Cat in the Hat and more!

Explore

Holiday outing picks from ParentMap:

Cheer on the Hawks!

Take the kids to one of these 10 Places for 12th Families to Cheer on the Seahawks.

Play
