Pathways to Excellence

Denny International Middle School, Seattle

At Denny International Middle School, being an international school means the curriculum has a global perspective, students embrace new languages and everyone is committed to academic excellence. While most schools base grades on testing and assignments, Denny uses the standards-based system, which focuses on mastering skills and meeting learning goals. To help students reach these goals, the school offers community groups, university tutors and individual, personalized services. They even have a dual-language program, which encourages kids who already have a basis in Spanish to develop their language skills. Denny’s support doesn’t end when students leave the middle school, but extends through the transition to high school, helping kids throughout their academic journey.
