Downton Abbey: Looking back and looking forward (preview and parody)

March 3, 2013

Have you heard the news about season four? We're still reeling from the finale! And yet, we have every intention of watching the full season three marathon on Sunday, 3/24.

It starts at noon, and yes, it is part of our March fund drive. Please click here to order the DVDs and make a contribution to KCTS 9 any time.

PBS has released news, and a perfect shot of Mary, from season four. Click here to read the cast preview and see the photo (baby boy!). What this post doesn't say - that O'Brien is gone! Another actress who did not renew her contract. Why?!? We will miss her bangs, but rely on this: There will be eavesdropping, and drama, and zingers from the Dowager (Maggie Smith) and Grandmama (Shirley Maclaine).

We are pretty sure it's not going to happen the way The New Yorker's John Kenney has it, although his tone is spot-on. Do you have a favorite Downton Abbey parody? Do tell us about it in the comments.

Until next time,
