Ask the Governor

LGBT and Religious Rights

February 23, 2017

When asked about why clergy rights to refuse same-sex marriages doesn't extend to businesses, Gov. Jay Inslee voiced his opinion that there is a difference between private congregations and public business.

He also said, when asked about transgender rights, that he is glad that we are teaching our children to not discriminate and bully each other. "Our country is headed in the right direction to a more open and tolerant America, and I'm glad Washington is leading the way."
