An Inside Look at Golden Globe Winner 'Inside Out'

June 16, 2015

In Pixar's new movie Inside Out, the characters are the emotions we feel everyday. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust become more than feelings as they shape and change a young girl's mind.

Director Pete Docter was inspired by his young daughter and the changes he noticed as she grew. "She had gone through this change where she was this really active, rambuncious little kid. And as she got a little older, she got a little more quiet, a little more reserved. And that change made me wonder, 'How did that happen? What was going on in her head?'"

After five years in the making, Inside Out premiered in theaters June 19, 2015. On January 10, 2016, the film won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture, Animated.
