Cascade Public Media Board Nomination Process

Cascade Public Media (“CPM”) has two groups of community leaders who provide support to the organization.

The Cascade Public Media Board of Directors is the governing body with responsibility for the strategic, operational and financial performance of the organization.  The KCTS 9 Community Advisory Board (“CAB”) is a non-fiduciary body charged with educating CPM about the issues and concerns within the region such that KCTS 9 may be responsive to the needs of its audiences.

The Nominating & Governance Committee of the CPM Board of Directors has the responsibility to evaluate and nominate candidates for election to the CPM Board of Directors and to appoint individuals to the KCTS 9 Community Advisory Board.

The Nominating & Governance Committee may nominate candidates for election to the CPM Board of Directors or appoint candidates to the KCTS 9 Community Advisory Board at any regularly scheduled or special meeting of the Committee.

The Nominating & Governance Committee and the current KCTS 9 CAB wish to consider candidates proposed by the community for service on the CAB as outlined below:

  • Candidate submissions will be accepted between June 11, 2018 and August 31, 2018.
  • Candidates may be submitted by emailing CABnominate@kcts9.org with: Candidate contact information, resume and bio, and reasons for wanting to join.
  • Candidate information will be reviewed by the Community Advisory Board Nominating Sub-Committee and the Nominating & Governance Committee. Candidates most closely aligned with the perceived needs of the organization will be considered.
  • The criterion for consideration is subject to change based on the perceived needs of the organization and of the CAB. The final selection of candidates for appointment to the CAB is at the sole discretion of the Nominating & Governance Committee.
  • Candidates will be selected based on the needs of the organization and the CAB and the individuals who represent the best match to those needs. See the CAB Member Duties and Attributes document at this link
  • The Nominating & Governance Committee will appoint candidates to the KCTS 9 Community Advisory Board.

All candidates will receive confirmation of their submission and will be considered along with other individuals as may be made known to the CAB and the Nominating & Governance Committee. Submissions will remain under consideration for a period of two years after initial submission; only one submission per candidate will be considered per two-year period.
