Lynne K. Varner

<em>Committees:</em> Nominating and Governance

Lynne joined the university in 2014 after a 25-year career in journalism reporting for such media outlets as United Press International, The Washington Post and the Seattle Times, where she was as an award-winning columnist and member of the Seattle Times Editorial Board.

Lynne is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park. In 2003, she was one of 18 journalists worldwide awarded a John S. Knight fellowship to study race and politics at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Cal. Lynne is the co-author of Stories that Cover Us: Meditations and Fiber Art by the Pacific Northwest African American Quilters.

Lynne lives on the Eastside with her husband and teenage son.
