Audience Engagement Analyst

Conduct audience research and analysis to deepen engagement with key audiences, to expand audience reach, and to strengthen the organization.

I.  Analysis, Research, Testing, and Optimization

  • Generate weekly and monthly reports showing multi-channel performance
  • Analyze performance of content across media to inform content, marketing, and revenue-generation strategy
  • Analyze assumptions related to audience composition and behavior and evaluate performance of new strategies and tactics
  • Provide insight and optimization recommendations related to marketing campaign spending and content direction
  • Utilize industry standard research tools and data sources (Nielsen, Google Analytics, etc.) and discover new sources of audience engagement data
  • Research opportunities and competition in local market
  • Maintain in-depth and active knowledge of audience engagement trends with a proven ability to stay ahead of the market for implementation and strategy.
  • Attend annual conference(s)

II.  Share Knowledge and Insight

  • Translate and present insights in the form of data storytelling to a wide cross-section of stakeholders
  • Participate in the ongoing development and curation of Research Hub assets
  • Collaborate with internal partners (such as Direct Marketing, Membership, Content, and Digital/Interactive) in project planning, providing the audience engagement metrics & evaluation perspective
  • Serve as a station-wide resource for inquiries related to audience engagement analytics

  • Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of experience in analyzing content, social media, advertising, communications, or digital marketing data
  • Experience with tools that measure audiences across media platforms, such as Nielsen, social media monitoring tools, and Google Analytics
  • Thorough knowledge of social media platforms and analytics, including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Familiarity with audience/consumer demographics data, such as Quantcast
  • Experience integrating data from multiple sources such as Nielsen, Salesforce, Google, Twitter, Facebook preferred
  • Hands-on experience with querying languages such as SQL or SOQL preferred but not required
  • Strong business intelligence skillset, including data analysis and data visualization (concepts, tools, and best practices)
  • A high level of competency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables & charting), Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience delivering presentations to stakeholders.
  • Strong independent thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Strong project management skills preferred
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and able to deliver insights in a fast paced environment


  • Ability to regularly type on a keyboard
  • Ability to view data on a computer screen for long periods of time
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
