The Role of Media in a World of Fake News

UPCOMING

Friday, December 1, 2017

This event has expired.

This event is currently at maximum capacity.

At a time when facts are opinions and opinions are facts, what is the role of media to present the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? And how compelling is this 'truth' to the public? It's a troubling time and media's role - and responsibility - in these affairs is being challenged in unprecedented ways. What's the solution and how can society successfully trust media again?

KCTS 9’s Enrique Cerna moderates a community conversation featuring Associate Publisher for The Globe and Mail Jim Jennings, Founder of The Tyee David Beers, Managing Editor of Crosscut Florangela Davila and News Director for CBC News Wayne Williams in discussion on the role of media in a world of 'fake news'.
