An Evening with Teju Cole

Thursday, April 21, 2016 - 7:30pm

This event has expired.

Nigerian-born Teju Cole’s epic Open City, called “a psychological hand grenade,” (The Atlantic) draws on his heritage to tell the fictional tale of one man’s experiences in a post-9/11 New York. Cole’s most recent novella Every Day is for the Thief follows a nameless protagonist as he returns to Nigeria, reflecting on his personal relationships, and comes to terms with his past. This PEN Award-winning author will discuss how his heritage and other factors influence his writing, explore his most recent work, and give insight into his creative process.
