Masterpiece’s Newest Series, Indian Summers, Sizzles with Drama

It made world-wide news when the producers announced that one of PBS’ most beloved and captivating series, Downton Abbey, was coming to an end. Though nothing can replace the special place Downton Abbey will forever have in our hearts, there is a new wave of enticing dramas coming to KCTS 9. Poldark was the first, and it came and conquered; now it’s time for Indian Summers.

In this new nine-part series, premiering September 27 at 9:00 p.m., the all-star cast draws viewers into the story of the twilight era of British rule in India. Set in a subtropical paradise, the series explores the collision of the high-living English ruling class with the local people agitating for Indian independence. As the drama unfolds, the two sides alternately clash and merge in an intricate game of power, politics and passion. Indian Summers stars Julie Waters, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Jemima West, Nikesh Patel, Roshan Seth and Lillete Dubey.
