Benefits

Full-time employees and employees working more than 20 hours per week at Cascade Public Media, receive a generous benefits package, including the following.

Planning for Health and Wellness

Wellness is not a guarantee, but Cascade Public Media (CPM) encourages employees to make a plan for their health needs.  Whether it’s riding your bike to work or joining in a “walking club,” there are steps everyone can take.

We also offer medical insurance from Kaiser Permanente.  Our two options are high-deductible health plans, and your insurance coverage is supplemented by the organization with a non-taxable Health Savings Account (HSA) that has been partially pre-funded by CPM.

Our dental plan is offered through Delta Dental of Washington. We also offer a vision plan through VSP and CPM pays 100% of the vision premiums.

Taking Care of Life and Disability Insurance

CPM provides life insurance at no cost to you.  We also provide Accidental Death and Dismemberment (ADD), Long Term Disability (LTD) and Short Term Disability (STD). CPM pays 100% of the premiums for these plans.

Investing in Your Future

As a CPM employee you have two ways to save for your retirement.

You can participate in our traditional 401k or Roth IRA and save part of your salary with a match of 25% on every dollar up to 6% of your salary.

In addition, once you have completed one eligible year of service, you will be part of the annual discretionary plan and be eligible for a contribution to your account of up to 5% of your annual salary.

Every year there are options to meet with financial advisors either in a class setting or one-on-one  to help with your retirement planning.

CPM encourages its employees to use public transportation where and when possible to help alleviate traffic congestion and steward our natural resources. To assist with commuting expenses, we offer a $50 per month subsidy toward an ORCA card (bus and light rail pass). For amounts over $50, you may pay on a pre-tax basis through payroll deduction.
