makes 2 quarts
Ingredients
- 2 quarts popped popcorn
- 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter
Preparation
Place the popcorn in a large bowl. Set aside. In a small bowl, mix together the nutritional yeast, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper and salt with a small whisk. Set aside. Place the butter in a small glass bowl and microwave for 40 seconds, or until melted. Drizzle the melted butter over the popcorn and mix well. Sprinkle the nutritional yeast mixture over the popcorn and toss well to coat.

Of course! Everyone was putting nutritional yeast on popcorn in the late 70s and 80s, the paprika, pepper and garlic powder were optional. Now that blend is mainstream, one of many spice mixtures offered at The Rose Theatre in Port Townsend. But then that isn't exactly mainstream is it - The Rose or Port Townsend! :o)
