Maurice “Moss” Bresnahan, President & CEO
Moss joined KCTS 9 as president and CEO in November 2008. From 2001 to 2008, Moss served as President and CEO of South Carolina's public television and radio network—South Carolina ETV, including 11 public TV stations, eight public radio stations and a statewide distance learning system.
Prior to joining ETV, Moss served as president and GM of WVPT-TV in Shenandoah Valley and Charlottesville, VA; and as president and GM of WQPT-TV in Moline, IL and KQCT-TV in Davenport, IA. Moss has also held management and production positions in cable TV, commercial TV, and served as manager of communications for the mayor of Boston. He taught television and mass communications at University of Virginia, Emerson College, and Boston University; taught English in Yokohama, Japan; and served as an officer in the Navy and Naval Reserve for 10 years.
Moss serves on the board of directors for the Association of Public Television Stations (APTS) in Washington, D.C., and the Independent Television Service (ITVS) in San Francisco. He received his B.A. and M.S. degrees from Boston University, studied at University College Dublin, and has completed extensive professional development courses at Harvard Business School, University of Virginia, William and Mary, and University of Iowa.
Nancy Geiger, CFO & Vice President of Administration
A dedicated and proven professional, Nancy brings over two decades of financial and executive management experience to her position at KCTS 9. In December 2009, she joined the station as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Administration.
Prior to her appointment, Nancy served as Vice President of Finance and Administration for the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle. She previously worked in administrative and financial management positions at the University of Washington School of Medicine and the Washington Community Mental Health Council.
A longtime Seattle resident, Nancy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College and a Master’s in Health Administration from the University of Washington. She became a Certified Public Accountant in 1985 and a Certified Management Accountant in 1989.
Nancy and her husband have two adult children. She is active as a community volunteer and enjoys knitting, foreign and domestic travel, and long-distance walking.
John Lindsay, Vice President of Content
John Lindsay has produced or co-produced nearly 300 hours of national primetime public television programming. He and his colleagues share 62 of the industry's most prestigious awards, including seven national Emmys, three George Foster Peabody awards and two duPont-Columbia awards. As KCTS 9’s Vice President of Content, he oversees the creation of original programming on air, online and in the community.
Before arriving at KCTS 9, John was Vice President for National and International Productions at KETC/St. Louis. He also spent 14 years at Oregon Public Broadcasting as Senior Vice President/Director of National Productions. At OPB, he led the effort to produce the first external documentary ever commissioned by CNN, secured HBO’s first documentary commission to a public television station and produced an ongoing series for TLC. He also organized the first ever co-production between FRONTLINE and ABC's Nightline.
John’s career also includes production roles at Chicago’s Towers Productions and Carlton Productions in Princeton, New Jersey. Earlier in his career, he was a senior producer for the investigative reporting unit at WCCO/Minneapolis.
Daphne Adair, Executive Director of Marketing & Communications
Daphne is an accomplished communications professional with a decade of experience at KCTS 9. As Executive Director of Marketing & Communications, she leads the station’s internal and external communications and marketing activities, managing areas including media relations, on-air promotion, publications, design and event planning.
Prior to her appointment as Executive Director, Daphne served as the station’s Communications Specialist. Her responsibilities in that role included the writing and editing of a broad range of marketing and communications materials, management of KCTS 9’s media relations activities, and participation in strategic planning. Daphne’s accomplishments in her previous position as the station’s Internal Communications Coordinator included the development of key internal communications vehicles including a staff intranet site. Before joining the KCTS 9 staff, Daphne was an award-winning customer service representative for Amazon.com.
Daphne earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Washington and continued her education with professional development courses in public relations writing and copyediting. Since 2001, she has served as a community volunteer with preschool and special-education students. In her spare time, Daphne, who lives in Seattle with her husband, enjoys knitting, creative writing, and cycling in the beautiful Northwest outdoors.
Jabran Soubeih, Executive Director of Engineering & Technical Planning
As the Executive Director of Engineering & Technical Planning, Jabran helped lead KCTS 9 and KYVE 47 to a successful digital transition in June, 2009.
Prior to joining KCTS 9, Jabran worked for UWTV, the University of Washington's proprietary television and Web streaming services, as a Video Network Engineer. At the UW, Jabran focused on integrated solutions between on-air and online services. For example, he designed, developed and implemented a software solution for closed captions that would enable the service to be accessed across television and Web platforms—taking advantage of the revolution unfolding in the broadcast industry to provide better services to more viewers at lower costs.
Jabran also worked as a Broadcast Engineer for KOMO TV for eight years. There, he implemented automation for master control and the newsroom, designed and created documentation for new systems and trained operational and engineering staff on new and existing systems. Each project focused on utilizing new technologies to streamline processes and improve efficiency in putting programs on the air.
Jabran earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology with emphasis on communications, RF, digital telephony and fiber optics.
In his spare time, Jabran enjoys digital and film photography, with a focus on his family and their dog, Kelbi.
