Meeting of February 21, 2013

Are schools doing enough to offer opportunities for academic excellence for all students?

About the Episode

Erin Jones was born in the U.S. but grew up in the Netherlands and attended private schools. Her success was expected. She felt no limits to what she could achieve. Returning home, she found a much different educational situation for fellow African American students. Erin is now a teacher, dedicated to ensuring that every student has the same opportunity she had to achieve.

I found your website quite by accident. What a great website. My club, Rotary Club of Lake Forest Park, are just beginning to work on our website and FaceBook. Hearing Erin Jones speak was a very rewarding experience. I am a retired teacher, myself, and I found her talk to be most enlightening. It needs to be
a talk given at the District Level.

Many of us from 5030 just attended the RI Global Peace Forum in Hawaii, and Erin's message would have resonated with forum members. I hope we hear more from her.

Thanks for sharing your website.
