Washington State Supreme Court Debate

A non-partisan debate among the candidates for the open seat on the Washington State Supreme Court.

Infrastructure

A largely unknown responsibility of the Supreme Court is to maintain the court system of the entire state. We asked the candidates what areas of our judicial system need improvement, and how they would work to bring about change.

Who is your Legal Hero?

Is it a past or present Supreme Court justice? A legal scholar or philosopher? We asked the candidates who they most admire who has helped shaped their judicial philosophy.

Policing the Lawyers

A major job of the Supreme Court is to discipline lawyers who break the law. We asked the candidates to give the court a grade, A through F, on how well it disciplines its own profession, and to tell us what changes they would make.

About the Debate

A non-partisan debate among the candidates for the open seat on the Washington State Supreme Court. Moderated by KCTS 9's Enrique Cerna, and League of Women Voters' Kim Abel.
