Latino Education Summit Final Report

The Commission on Hispanic Affairs and researchers from the University of Washington recently completed a study which examines the causes of low graduation rates among Latino students and even lower numbers of Latino students represented in the halls of higher education.

On May 29, 2009, over one hundred educators, administrators and researchers gathered for the Latino Education Summit to discuss this issue and craft a shared plan for progress. The Summit culminated in the creation of a five-year plan to be shared by educators, students, parents and communities.
