Latin Music USA is a series about American music. Fusions of Latin sounds with jazz, rock, country, rhythm and blues – music with deeper roots and broader reach than most people realize. It’s a fresh take on our musical history, reaching across five decades and across musical genres to portray the rich mix of sounds created by Latinos and embraced by all.

Both sessions will offer resources to teachers grades 4-12 in the areas of social studies, music and Spanish.

Find your groove as you learn how Latino music can make curricular connections with your students! KCTS 9 educators will share resources that help teachers use the captivating world of Latin music and dance to engage students on standards-aligned explorations of social studies, music and Spanish language. Explore lesson plans, meet musical experts and take part in a hands-on jam session. All participating teachers will receive multi-media resources for PBS's Latin Music USA and Experience Music Project's American Sabor: Latinos in US Popular Music.
