My question. Is it true that if one quits a job, they do not qualify for unemployment. Recently I left a position by choice as I saw I was not going to be a good fit, a conflict with my supervisor. I was there 6 months. I was even asked if I would give them an "exit" interview so that they could see how they could do it better next time. I believed they wanted me to stay but didn't offer to reposition me elsewhere in the company. The supervisor was reprimanded. I applied for unemployment and was told I did not qualify because I had quit my job. So is unemployment benefits only for those who are fired or laid-off and those who quit jobs are penalized? Please advise.
