Local Sightings 2013 in Review

This Sunday, April 13th, Naked City Brewery in Seattle is screening the Audience Award Winners from the 2013 Local Sightings Film Festival, curated and hosted each year by Northwest Film Forum. Beginning at 7p, attendees will have the opportunity to watch A DOSE FOR DOMINIC (also selected as a Reel NW Short) as well as WALKING AGAINST THE WIND, a film City Arts calls an "incredibly confident debut...with ravishing black-and-white cinematography and a fearless no-holds-barred lead performance."

Another film that screened at this year's Local Sightings is THE MOUNTAIN RUNNERS, a regional film we think KCTS 9 viewers would appreciate. This film tells the-hard-to-believe story of the 1911-1913 footraces up and down Mount Baker--a 10,781 foot volcanic, glacial peak. Made up of fascinating archival material and dramatic recreations, the community of Bellingham and Mount Baker's glory are fully on display in this charming documentary from Todd Warger and Brian Young. This film will not be screening at Naked City on Sunday, but it is available for purchase on iTunes!
