Gang Special
From graffiti, to guns, to murder—gang activity is on the rise in Washington state. In this special edition, we'll spend our full program looking more deeply at the issue in Seattle and across the state.
Why do kids join? Who’s at risk? Is it happening in your neighborhood? We'll get first-hand witness reports from reporter Claudia Rowe and photographer Mike Kane, who spent months on the streets reporting a special expose for the Seattle P.I. on the escalating gang activity in King County.
East of the mountains, a small community employed creative legal solutions to help halt a growing epidemic—is it a long-term solution, and can it help stem the violence elsewhere?
Seattle Chief of Police Gil Kerlikowske and other experts join us to discuss the proposed solutions for making our streets safer.

The show was informative but lacked a different perspective. As a 36 year old Hispanic Professional familyman that was raised in the impoverished neighborhoods of Los Angeles and now living in Yakima i see a much bigger picture which was not presented.
I felt as thought the show took a emphasis of a "new" problem to our area when it needed a much deeper depth look to it. I left those neighborhoods and progressed by various proactive avenues that were made available to me. Few conclusive and more suggestive ideas were given by your panel and again a new problem to current leadership without looking or "experiencing" first hand solutions is just grasping at darkness at the cost of some challenged youth.
I haved worked first hand and have the references to back my statements.
