More than 40 high school musicians from Tacoma Youth Symphony Association (TYSA) will perform with musicians from the Tacoma Symphony orchestra during their first joint concert! The program will include a student soloist from TYSA selected during its annual concerto competition.
Representing the best of southern Slavic folk music, five-member Hungarian ensemble Söndörgo's repertoire includes pieces gathered by Béla Bartók, Tihamér Vujicsics and other greats from their country’s traditional heritage. The performance centers on mandolin-esque tambura, and will also include accordion and wind instruments.
Seattle Rock Orchestra’s volunteer community ensemble, SRO Social Club, is turning traditional orchestra upside down. This performance features a mixture of pop and rock hits with featured guest vocal artists.
The Seattle Festival Orchestra will perform Johan Wagenaar's Cyrano de Bergerac Overture, Op. 23, Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A Major, K. 622, and Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 4 in C Minor "Tragic" under the direction of Wesley Schulz.
