KCTS 9 extends public television programs through complementary broadcasts, print materials and/or community activities designed to encourage individual or community participation in solutions to national and Northwest issues of concern.

We try to give viewers the chance to connect more fully with issues addressed in our programming. People who watch KCTS 9 want to know more about issues raised by our programs and often want to get involved if a topic has moved them. Simple efforts such as running the name and number of appropriate local service organizations after a program airs, organizing a phone bank or sharing an informational brochure, provides viewers with an opportunity to connect with local providers.
