Once upon a time there was a fluffy white sheep. Her name was Sally. Sally was as white as a snowflake, and as soft as a marshmallow. Sally the sheep was as sweet as a tulip...except she had a sleeping problem. She would never, ever go to sleep at night, but she was always fast asleep at school! One night, Sally was eating potato chips and watching the Late, Late, Late, Late Show. Her eyes were starting to get droopy...considering the fact that it was four in the morning!! Her eyes were glued to the T.V.! Three hours later it was time to go to school.
"Honey! Hurry up! You're gonna' be late!" Sally's mom yelled from the kitchen.
"One second, mom!" Sally exclaimed. Sally's mom looked at her daughter's eyes and saw that they were bulging with red, big, huge, and purple bags. "Beep! Beep!" the school bus roared.
"Sally Sheep! The bus! You are going to miss school! Come on!" her mom yelled loudly! Sally's mom was getting frustrated. She stomped into the living room, turned off the T.V. and picked Sally up by her fluff. "Here's your lunch! Now get out the door!" her mom screamed while giving Sally her lunch and pushing her out the door, like laundry down a chute.
In the classroom, Sally tried to focus on Mrs. Blowfish; but since she was a fish, and was not in water, Mrs. Blowfish had to wear a special astronaut helmet filled with water. In fact...the teacher's appearance reminded her of a movie she had watched last night. (Astronaut):3,2,1 - blast off - Zzzz...Sally the sheep was fast asleep at school, for the 5th time this week. Tutu The Turtle came over in her pink tutu and poked Sally. Nothing happened, so Tutu just went back to her math sheets. Mrs. Blowfish noticed that Sally was asleep. With an amused look on her face, she watched Sally stand up, open her eyes, and sleep walk. Sometimes, she would sleep talk! Sally looked like a zombie. Tutu The Turtle went up to Sally and shook her so she would wake up. It worked...but Sally was grumpy! Sally threw a pencil at the chalkboard. It stuck like a dart in a soft target. Sally was sent to Principal Porcupine's Office for the rest of the day. She didn't even get to go to Fluffy Ball practice.
Day after day she would stay up at night and sleep walk at school. One time, she threw her pencil so hard against the board that it cracked. (Mrs. Blowfish did not appreciate that!) Another time she walked in her sleep to the library and started to scream in a high pitched voice.
(Lizzy Librarian hated that!) Once, Sally tried to pop Mrs. Blowfish with a vaccination needle she stole from the school nurse. Mrs. Blowfish almost blew her top. Literaly. Her teacher wondered if she was ever going to pass grade six!! Finally, one day, Mrs. Blowfish had had enough. She stomped up to Sally and declared, "Sally! If you sleep walk tomorrow, you will be cut off the Fluffy Ball team!!!" Everyone gasped; but Sally gasped even more, as if there was no more air in the world! She never thought she could really get in that much trouble. Now, she might lose her sop on the All Star team.
That night, Sally went up to her mom and bawled, "If I sleep walk one more time. I...I get cut off the Fluffy Ball team!!" Sally could make an ocean with her tears.
"No Fluffy Ball! Oh no. Follow me!" her mom demanded. Sally followed her mom to the attic. After about seven minutes, Sally's mom found what she was looking for - a dusty old book called, 'Remedies FoR FRustrated GRumpies!
"You will follow these rules. You'll try em' all!" Sally's mom ordered her daughter.
"Number one - Have a warm glass of milk!"
Sally ran down the stairs with her mom to the fridge. Glug! Glug! Glug! Nope. That didn't work. Her mom listed off a bunch of remedies such as to do 100 jumping jacks (to get tired), breathe deeply and stare at the ceiling. The one that was super useless was, 'Think of your favorite T.V. show you have watched to soothe you!' It just made Sally have nightmares, and throw stuff at everyone.
"Finally. Number thirty. Count sheep," her mom sighed, thinking that this was hopeless. Sally climbed into bed. One sheep. Two sheep....Zzzz. I guess it worked; considering the fact that she was a sheep!
Her team won the Fluffy Ball tournament the next day! Sally The Sheep got ten points for her team!! Sally learned that sleep can be a bore, but at least you won't sleep walk out the door!!!
