Joe Mallahan is a successful local businessman with an education in politics and experience in community organizing. Michael McGinn is a Seattle attorney and community activist who’s worked with government agencies and on state and city committees. Now these newcomers to elected office want your vote for Mayor of Seattle. On October 22, Mallahan and McGinn will face off in a live, unscripted debate moderated by KCTS 9’s Enrique Cerna. Questions from local journalists will uncover the candidates’ stands on critical issues such as the economy, education, crime, and the issue on center stage in the race: replacing the Alaskan Way Viaduct with a deep-bore tunnel.

Co-sponsored by KCTS 9, The Seattle Times and KUOW 94.9 News and Information.

This debate airs live at 7:00 p.m. on KCTS 9, KUOW and KPLU.

Local production and broadcast of this debate is made possible by Countywide Community Forums, the Floyd and Delores Jones Foundation and KCTS 9 Members.
