Where do the Space Needle, Elvis and futurism meet? At the World’s Fair, of course! 2012 marks the 50th Anniversary of the 1962 World’s Fair in Seattle. This transformative event ushered in a new global era for the region and inspired the imaginations of the young Bill Gates and Paul Allen – among others – ensuring that its impact would continue to be part of Seattle.
KCTS 9, HistoryLink and the Seattle Center Foundation invite teachers and their students to step back in time, contemplate where we are today, and boldly envision the future of the next fifty years.
This training includes parking, lunch, workshop materials, a voucher for a DVD of World’s Fair documentary (release date: February 2012) and clock hours will be available. Space is limited to the first 60 registrants. Contact education@historylink.org to register today!
