Leah Concannon, M.D., UW Medicine, Dept. of Rehabilitation Medicine

A current and concerning topic, sports concussions are brain injuries affecting athletes in nearly every sport, from professionals and adults to students and kids. At the August Eastside Science Café, join UW Medicine's Leah Concannon, M.D., to explore the causes, symptoms, effects, and recovery from this common sports injury that can have dramatic consequences. How do we keep youth athletes safe?

Eastside Science Café is held on the second Monday of each month. Did you miss a café and want to hear the discussion? Most Science Cafés are recorded by KCTS 9 and are available for online viewing. Eastside Science Cafés take place at Wilde Rover in Kirkland and are presented in partnership with Pacific Science Center and KCTS 9.
