Join KCTS 9 and Community Cinema for a free, exclusive pre-screening of Me Facing Life: Cyntoia’s Story at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle.

Cyntoia Brown had a seventh grade education, the IQ of a genius, and at the age of 16 she committed murder. What leads young people to violence and what can Cyntoia's story tell us about finding solutions?  Me Facing Life: Cyntoia’s Story intimately follows Cyntoia from the time she is arrested for murder at 16 through her sentencing.

Me Facing Life explores the circumstances of youth violence and asks viewers to question their assumptions about the root causes. Join Community Cinema this month for an event that will bring together local youth advocates, criminal justice experts, and young people who have been in the system to discuss the ties between Cyntoia's story and their own and to discuss the hope that innovative community programs have given them.

Me Facing Life: Cyntoia’s Story will air Tuesday, March 1, at 10:00 p.m. on the Emmy Award-winning PBS series Independent Lens on KCTS 9.
