Raising Resilience: How to Build Character, Confidence and Grit

As the pace of life accelerates, as media influence intensifies, and as the future grows less predictable, it is hard to know how to raise caring, competent children, prepared for whatever lies ahead.

Dr. Rob Evans will outline core dilemmas facing parents today and offer concrete strategies to help develop three key qualities that matter most for your child's future success: resilience, perseverance, and optimism.

Rob Evans, M.Ed, is a clinical and organizational psychologist and the Executive Director of The Human Relations Service in Wellesley, Massachusetts. A former high school and pre-school teacher, and a former child and family therapist, he has worked with schools and families for thirty years. He has consulted to over 1,600 schools around the country, is a keynote speaker at national school leadership conferences and is the author of three books on school change, leadership and family relationships.
