National Geographic Live! Borneo:Paradise Under Siege with Mattias Klum

Tuesday, May 12, 2009 - 7:30pm

7:30 p.m.
Benaroya Hall
200 University Street
Seattle, WA 98109

KCTS 9 and National Geographic Live invite you to an evening with Mattias Klum, one of the most highly regarded natural history photographers as he shares his intimate stories, stunning images with his trademark charisma and humor.
Mattias Klum
His advocacy work in rescuing and rehabilitating orangutans earned him designation as a 2008 Young Globe Leader by the World Economic Forum.  For 20 years he has explored its unique flora and fauna of Borneo for magazines, books, and films.
When asked by National Geographic, Klum returned to Borneo- this time to document the destruction that claimed 75 percent of Borneo’s lowland rain forest, and now threatens its native orangutans and pygmy elephants, as well as the reclusive, forest-dwelling Penan tribe.
