At a time when women could neither vote nor participate officially in politics, Dolley Madison, wife of the fourth president James Madison, became one of the most influential and best loved figures of her day.

KCTS 9 and the Washington State History Museum are partnering to explore Lincoln’s legacy in American culture and politics though new classroom resources and lessons. Social Studies and History teachers (grades 5 - 12) are invited for this professional development event. Preview the upcoming PBS documentary Looking for Lincoln and hear keynote speaker R. Tracy McKenzie, University of Washington professor of history and author of Lincolnites & Rebels.

This is a free training event and includes resources, clock hours, and lunch.
