Latinos Screening and Panel Discussion - Yakima

Join us for a special preview of Latinos: The Changing Face of Washington, featuring clips from the documentary and a trailer for Latino Americans, a landmark 6-part series from PBS. Following the presentation, filmmaker Enrique Cerna and participants from the documentary will engage in a panel discussion and answer questions presented by the audience.

About the Film
KCTS 9's Enrique Cerna, the son of Mexican immigrants, examines the history of Latinos in Washington and how their dramatic population growth is bringing change to politics, education, immigration and entrepreneurship in the state. Cerna reflects on his family’s Yakima Valley heritage along with others, including Phyllis Gutierrez-Kenney’s transformation from migrant laborer to political trailblazer and the entrepreneurial story of winemaker Victor Palencia.

Latinos: The Changing Face of Washington premieres Thursday, 9/17, at 7:00 p.m. on KCTS 9 and KYVE 47. The Spanish language version of the documentary will premiere on Vme as Latinos: El Rostro Cambiante de Washington  Friday, 10/4, at 9:00 p.m. on Vme. For more information visit:
