KCTS 9 Vme joins Sea Mar Community Health Centers in presenting Fiestas Patrias activities at the Seattle Center and in South Park

The fun gets underway on Saturday, September 17, 11:00 am, with a morning parade in Seattle’s South Park neighborhood (near Boeing Airfield). Parade participants include Mexican vaqueros on dancing horses, marching bands, “low riders,” classic cars, dancers, clowns, children in traditional dress, Seattle police and fire departments, dignitaries, and more.

The main parade is on 14th Avenue S and S Cloverdale Street, and it ends at the South Park Community Center, 8319-8th Avenue S. Following the parade, a community Fiesta will be held at Sea Mar Plaza, 9635 Des Moines Memorial Drive. The afternoon program includes a health fair, horse show, folkloric dancers, music, food, information booths, and family fun.

All events are free to the public and everyone is welcome. Come and celebrate the spirit of independence and a growing, vibrant, and diverse South Park community.
