Asteroid Mining: Science Fiction or Opportunity?
Chris Lewicki, Planetary Resources, Inc.
 Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium
Not just an idea out of science fiction, asteroid mining is gaining traction. New companies plan to harvest raw materials, ranging from water to precious metals, from these rocky near-Earth objects. At the June Eastside Science Café, join Planetary Resources, Inc.’s Chris Lewicki to explore why asteroids are attractive sources of a range of raw materials and how this fits with the future of space exploration.

Eastside Science Café is held on the second Monday of each month. Did you miss a café and want to hear the discussion? Most Science Cafés are recorded by KCTS 9 and are available for online viewing. Eastside Science Cafés take place at Wilde Rover in Kirkland and are presented in partnership with Pacific Science Center and KCTS 9.
