About the Film
KCTS 9's Enrique Cerna, the son of Mexican immigrants examines the history of Latinos in Washington and how their dramatic population growth is bringing change to politics, education, immigration and entrepreneurship in the state. Cerna reflects on his family’s Yakima Valley heritage along with others, including Phyllis Gutierrez-Kenney’s transformation from migrant laborer to political trailblazer and the entrepreneurial story of winemaker Victor Palencia.

Latinos: The Changing Face of Washington premiered Thursday, 9/17, at 7:00 p.m. on KCTS 9 and KYVE 47. The Spanish language version of the documentary will premiere on Vme as Latinos: El Rostro Cambiante de Washington Friday, 10/4, at 9:00 p.m. For more information visit: KCTS9.org/latinos.
