Speaker Dr. Ruanne Barnabas, University of Washington, will explain how she uses mathematical models to gain insight into infectious disease epidemics, focusing on HIV co-infections. Her projects centers on epidemiologic synergy between HIV and HSV-2, malaria and/or TB using both empiric data and models to better understand HIV susceptibility and transmission, and, consequently HIV epidemics. KCTS 9, the Pacific Science Center and Science on Tap present this free monthly discussion from the world of science in a laid back, social way at T.S. McHughs.
