Eradicating Polio

Ramesh Ferris shares his personal journey of surviving polio and his work to end it.

About the Episode

Born in India, Ramesh contracted polio at 6 months, and was paralyzed. His only access to rehabilitation was to be placed in an orphanage. Adopted and raised in Canada, Ferris got the care he needed to walk with braces. In 2002 he returned to India and saw the fate of polio victims less lucky than he and dedicated himself to raising polio awareness.
