About the Episode

PBS President and CEO Paula Kerger joins us for a newsmaker interview about the present and future of public television. She responds to Republican Mitt Romney's criticism of public funding for PBS, as well as the financial concerns faced by a number of public television stations around the country if federal funding is cut or eliminated. Kerger also talks about the surprising ratings and critical success of Downton Abbey, and how she has survived six years facing funding and political challenges in the top job at PBS. In addition, our Insiders Roundtable weighs in on some of the top stories of the week, from Vice President Joe Biden's fundraising and campaign visit to Seattle, to the latest on the proposed SODO arena debate.

I really enjoy the Inspector Thomas Linnley stories. Will there be more coming in the new season? Also, would you please tell me the author's name so I can find Linnley books at the Library? THANKS!

Hi Jaki,

This is the response I received from Programming:

"There are no new episodes in production for the Inspector Lynley series as far as [we] know, and no new broadcasts planned of the existing episodes. Too bad, as the series was very popular with our viewers."

And after a quick Google search, it appears the author's name is Elizabeth George. Hope this helps!

Speaking of Downton Abbey --- will Season 2 be repeated on air before there is a Season 3? I'm hooked on Downton Abbey, have seen Season 1 and one of its repeats, but haven't been able to find Season 2.

Is Downton Abbey going to be On Comcast On Demand

Dear Ada,

Thanks for your post. We do indeed hope to repeat Downton Abbey Season 2 in the weeks leading up to the January premiere of Season 3. We will be able to confirm after we see more details of the winter PBS schedule. Please stay tuned for updates, and thanks very much for your interest in KCTS 9!
