The Graduates/Los Graduados, a two-part, bilingual documentary, explores pressing issues in education today through the eyes of six Latino and Latina students from across the United States. More than a survey of contemporary policy debates, the bilingual, two-part film offers first-hand perspectives on key challenges facing Latino high school students and their families, educators, and community leaders.

Also featured in the film are actor Wilmer Valderrama, a vocal advocate for the Latino community and Latino youth through organizations such as Voto Latino; Maria Teresa Kumar, the founding President and CEO of Voto Latino and an Emmy-nominated contributor on MSNBC; and Antonio Villaraigosa, Mayor of Los Angeles (2005-2013) a former high school dropout himself. This event is free and open to the public. The film is suggested for adults and children aged 13+. The film preview is followed by a casual audience Q&A. This screening is presented by KCTS 9 and ITVS' Community Cinema.

This two-part film from Independent Lens will air on KCTS 9 on Monday, 10/28, and Monday, 11/4.
