Latkes, a transliteration of the Hebrew (לאַטקע), are traditionally eaten by Jews during the Hanukkah festival. Obviously then it is totally inappropriate to garnish this dish with bacon crumbles. If presented as a non-denominational sweet potato pancake, then the bacon crumble may be appropriate.
