KYVE Production Technician III (On-Call)

Note: This position is located in Yakima, WA at KYVE. Community-supported public television station KYVE is the sister station of KCTS 9/Seattle.

Status: Supplemental, On-Call

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

I. Produce

  1. Perform technical production-related duties including lighting, floor direction, switching, camera operation, audio, electronic graphics, teleprompter, make up, set construction and dressing
  2. Coordinate the technical functions of television broadcast production for live, studio recorded and remote productions, EFP field recordings and audio sweetening
  3. Set up and serve as technical facilitator for teleconferences and other station meetings and events
  4. Advise producers, directors and clients to optimize capabilities of production equipment

II. Support Production

  1. Identify and report faulty equipment, technical procedure problems and personnel problems
  2. Properly store television production equipment
  3. Assist with inventory of television production equipment
  4. Other production related duties

QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES

  1. AA degree from an accredited technical school or equivalent experience required
  2. Two (2) years experience as a Production Technician II required
  3. Advanced working knowledge of camera operation, teleprompter, studio set-up, lighting, Electronic Graphics (EG), audio, lighting, switching and computer systems, and software and hardware, required
  4. Perform heavy lifting, including work with stage lighting equipment
  5. Travel in the field (Terms and conditions covered by IBEW Agreement)
  6. Regularly report to work as scheduled 
  7. Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish responsibilities, goals and projects
