KCTS Television, a nonprofit corporation, holds the station’s Federal Communications Commission license and is responsible for the financial and broadcasting activities of the station.

Note: Meetings of the KCTS Television Board of Directors and its committees are open to the general public except as noted below.
Unless otherwise noted, the meetings are held at KCTS Television. Note that the meeting schedule below is subject to change – please contact us at 206.443.6733 to confirm meeting dates and times or for further information.
Board of Directors meet January 23, April 24, June 19 and October 21, and December 6, 2013. The meetings will begin at 2:00 pm, except for the April 24th meeting, which will begin at 12 noon, the October 21st which will begin at 1:30pm and the December 6th meeting which will begin at 1:00pm.
Executive Committee – meet September 27, 2013, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, and a telephonic meeting on November 25, 2013, time TBD.
Development Committee meet January 16, April 17, June 19 and October 21, 2013. Meetings are held from 11:30 to 1:30 pm, except for the December 6th meeting which will be held from 12 noon to 1:00pm. The October 21, 2013 meeting has been cancelled.
Finance & Audit Committee meet January 22, April 23, June 18, October 21, and December 6, 2013. Meetings are held from 10:00 to 11:30 am.
Government Affairs Committee – TBD
Human Resources Committee meet April 12 and October 14, 2013. Meetings are held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The October 14th meeting will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 am.

Meetings or portions of meetings at which matters relating to individual employees, proprietary information, or litigation, or certain other matters requiring the confidential advice of counsel, commercial or financial information obtained from a person on a privileged or confidential basis, or the purchase of property or services whenever the premature exposure of such purchase would compromise the business interests of KCTS are closed to the public pursuant to 47 U.S.C. sec 396(k)(4).
Meetings of the Finance & Audit Committee are closed to the public pursuant to this statute as the agenda for those meetings is dedicated to matters relating to financial information.
The Board of Directors held an emergency session on August 28, 2013 that was closed to the public pursuant to this statute to consider a personnel matter relating to an individual employee.
The KCTS Television Board of Directors and staff have been working to make station operations more transparent and increase accountability to the community. Toward that end, we have created a process inviting the public to comment on major administrative policies that will guide our business and operations decisions.
A public hearing will be help on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 1:00pm at KCTS to review amendments to the KCTS Television Whistleblower Policy, Board Conflict of Interest Policy and Employee Conflict of Interest Policy.
